centennial-college-logoThe Game Design & Development program is changing.  It will be called Game Art & Design to reflect a focused program of study for those serious about their careers in the video game industry.  This two-year full-time program is unique in it’s focus on the creation of art assets :  concept sketches, 3D modeling & sculpting,  textures and matte paintings and  rendering & lighting.  The program emphasizes the production pipeline and the roles and challenges of working in the demanding game industry.

The Game Art & Design is tightly integrated with the local game industry. Toronto is home to world class studios and talent, Centennial students benefit from their expertise.

The program is designed to develop students’ traditional art skills and to transition into the creation of  production ready digital art assets for video games. Students will learn techniques and tricks used in: create character concepts, storyboards, matte paintings, low-poly 3D modeling, baked-in lighting, textures, advanced rendering and game engine texture and rendering optimization.
